Tech cos enforce work-from-home clause amid Coronavirus outbreak
After cancelling all business travel by employees to China in the wake of the novel Coronavirus outbreak, the India development centres of several global technology firms are enforcing a mandatory 14-day work-from-home clause for staff that have recently returned from the country.
The move is in keeping with the 14-day at-home quarantine that agencies such as the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are suggesting for travellers who return from China. Employees are being asked to limit interaction and monitor their health over the two-week period.
ET has learnt that German technology giant Bosch and US software products firm Citrix are among two firms that have mandated work-from-home for employees returning from China. Other global technology firms that had high instances of employees travelling to China are adopting similar measures.
