DoT not to take coercive action against telcos who fail to pay AGR dues

NEW DELHI: No coercive action will be taken against telecom service providers following the Supreme Court direction to pay outstanding on account of Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) in three months, a Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in an internal note Thursday said.

“You are directed to not to take any coercive action against the licensees in case they fail to comply with the Supreme Court order, until further orders, ” a director of the DoT’s Licensing Finance Policy Wing in a notification said.
