Devialet Phantom Reactor 900 review: Incredibly clear and loud speaker with sci-fi looks
Devialet, the young French company that audiophiles have come to admire, is now out with its latest heavy-duty performer: the Phantom Reactor 900.
And a looker it is. The new 900 watt speaker’s shape stays oval like previous versions, with two bass drivers and a full-range driver. The internal shell is of glass-fiber-filled polycarbonate and the outer shell is stainless steel in matte black.
As intended, the Reactor 900 looks unconventional, elegant and premium. The side-firing subwoofers are a treat to watch as they responds to the bass frequencies.
It also packs in five connectivity options — Bluetooth, AirPlay UPnP Renderer, AUX port, Wi-Fi and Ethernet. While most worked fine during the review run, the Bluetooth faced some hiccups in keeping up the connection.
