Here’s how Google is ‘changing’ and employees aren’t happy

It was a big day for Google CEO Sundar Pichai earlier this month when he was appointed as CEO of Alphabet (parent company of Google). Pichai has a lot to deal with but one of his biggest concerns will be to keep Google employees happy. Multiple reports over the last few months have indicated that there’s something not right with Google and its employees. A new report by Bloomberg now reveals that there’s “internal activism” is something that is leading to more than murmurs of discontent between employees and Google.
The report says that Google had a very ‘open culture’ but in the last couple of years, things have changed. The report notes. “Employees also had access to notes taken during brainstorming sessions, candid project evaluations, computer design documents, and strategic business plans.” Google, as per the Bloomberg report, also “flaunted its openness as a recruiting tool and public relations tactic as recently as 2015.
This practice of open systems did lead to employees finding their voices against projects Google was reportedly involved with China and Pentagon.
