Airtel, Vodafone Idea stocks fall sharply as hopes of more relief fade

New Delhi: Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea stocks fell sharply Tuesday, a day after a top government official said that the committee of secretaries set up to suggest relief measures for the telecom sector had been disbanded.

Bharti Airtel stock fell by 3.1% to Rs 437.3 at 12:10 today, while Vodafone Idea’s scrip fell by a steep 7.6% at Rs 6.32 on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Bharti Infratel stock was also down by 6.7% at Rs 233.2, Tuesday.
