Apple doesn’t want you to see ‘user reviews’ on its App Store

Apple seems to be making some changes in its App Store and this time it’s not adding anything or overhauling the look but it rather removing one of the important features – user reviews. As noticed by Apple Insider website, the iPhone maker has removed all the user reviews from the store. This has been witnessed in the US, UK and Australia online stores, which also indicates that this is a deliberate move by Apple and not a ‘mistake’. Also mentioned is that the user reviews were removed over the weekend and the company has not given any reason yet. What might not be well received by users is the transparency for which Apple is known for.
It is worth adding that the ‘Ratings & Reviews’ section is still visible in the Apple App Store at least in India. The section not just shows the overall rating out of 5 but also the number of people who have rated it along with an option to see who all have given a review. The reviews can also be sorted based on Most Helpful, Most Favourable, Most Critical and Most Recent. Removing the reviews from the store might also make users suspicious of certain apps, specially the paid ones.
