There have been indications for some time that New Delhi will take a call on its own, without being influenced by Washington’s aggressive opposition to Huawei. US officials and experts have repeatedly said that the company’s technology may be used by the Chinese military for the purpose of spying. But India went ahead and allowed Huawei to conduct 5G testing early this year. Such a permission, however, is no guarantee that India will welcome 5G.
