DoT weighs options to recover Rs 20,000 crore dues from RCom

NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is exploring options for recovering nearly Rs 20,000 crore in dues from Reliance Communications (RCom), which is undergoing bankruptcy resolution, senior officials said.

These include making Reliance Jio Infocomm liable for a portion of the money, while another avenue being considered is filing a claim at the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), where the Anil Ambani-owned telco’s bankruptcy proceedings are underway, the officials said. The dues stem from the recent Supreme Court order on adjusted gross revenue (AGR).
