Apple might be working on a new ring-like wearable device
After the success of Apple Watch, it looks like the Cupertino-based tech-giant is exploring other wearable device ideas as well. As per a new report, the company is working on a new ring-like wearable device a.k.a smart ring. The suggested wearable ring will also feature a touchscreen which users can use as an input command just like a mouse input.
Apple filed a patent for this new wearable device back in April 2015 and now it has received a patent for this new wearable device. As per the US Patent & Trademark Office, the new device is an “external electronic device with a finger-ring-mounted touchscreen that includes a computer processor, wireless transceiver, and rechargeable power source”.
The patent reveals a touchscreen input as the secondary method for users to interact with their primary device. The patent document also suggests that the device will come with predefined hand-gestures including ring movement of the device that will be used to perform actions on the external device.
