Apple planning to make its own 5G modem for these iPhones
NEW DELHI: Over the years, Apple has been slowly cutting off its dependance on component manufacturers and is moving towards making its own components. We are already seeing the shift in the processor and chipset division with a T2 security chip, A-series processors for iPhones and M-series coprocessors. However, the firm is now also said to be working towards making its own 5G modems.
As per a report by The Fast Company, Apple is planning to bring its own 5G modem in iPhones by the year 2022. This timeline is might be a tight one as the company has just bought Intel’s 5G modem business and a lot of work remains to be done in terms of development, testing and all kinds of certifications.
