INX Media case: CBI opposes P Chidambaram’s bail, files response in Delhi HC

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed its counter affidavit opposing the bail application sought by former Union Minister P Chidambaram in the INX media corruption case.

The agency has stated that the gravity of the offence committed by Chidambaram does not entitle him to a bail. The agency has sought dismissal of Chidambaram’s bail contending that keeping in view the magnitude of financial embezzlement and misuse of public office, no relief should be granted to the senior Congress leader.
