Instagram and WhatsApp are getting ‘new names’, here’s why

Earlier this month, social networking platform Facebook said that it is going to add its name to both WhatsApp and Instagram and now it has started appearing in the latest beta version of WhatsApp. The rebranded tag appears on the Settings page on WhatsApp at the bottom in the latest beta version of the app. We spotted this in the WhatsApp version 2.19.228.
At the time Facebook announced this move, a company spokesman told Reuters, “We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook.”
Incidentally, the photo sharing app Instagram too has ‘Instagram from Facebook’ tag at the bottom of the Settings page. The same was spotted in app version 106.0.0.24.118.
