Facebook, Instagram went down in several parts of the world

Social media network Facebook went down for several users across the world. As soon as one tried to log in to Facebook, instead of the homepage, an error message appeared. The message read, “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”
However, after 90 minutes or so, it does seem like the social media network is up and running. According to downdetector.com, both Facebook and Instagram hadn’t been working for a lot of users across the world.
It had also been reported that Facebook-owned photo sharing platform, Instagram was also not working. When we tried to log in to Instagram, it showed an error message just like Facebook. The message on Instagram app read, “We’re sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again.” However, for some users, Instagram seemed to working fine, so it’s not clear how widespread the outage is.
