Samsung overtakes Apple in terms of user loyalty: Report
According to a new report by BankMyCell, a website that lets users sell used phones and upgrade to a new one, Apple iPhone users’ loyalty is lower than that of Samsung users. The website concluded this by collecting data from more than 38,000 people that traded used phones for new ones ever since October last year. As per the report (via CNET), the iPhone retention was down by 15.2% as compared to what was observed in March last year.
On the other hand, Apple’s arch rival in the Android space – Samsung, was found to have more loyal users. The report adds that BankMyCell found around 26% users trading their iPhone X only to move to a different brand. Around 7.7% of Samsung Galaxy S9 users switched to an iPhone while 92.3% stuck with an Android-based smartphone.
