Only 8% Indian managers believe they have a skilled cybersecurity team: Sophos

PUNE: Only eight percent Indian IT managers believe that they have a skilled team in place to respond to cybersecurity incidents, according to ‘The Impossible Puzzle of Cybersecurity’ study by Sophos, a network and endpoint security firm. Further IT teams spend about a third of their time managing security, but struggle with a lack of expertise, budget and up to date technology. 81% Indian IT managers said that their organization’s cybersecurity budget (including people/technology) is below what it needs to be, with 89% managers polled saying that staying up to date with cybersecurity was a challenge. This lack of security expertise, budget and up to date technology indicates IT managers are struggling to respond to cyberattacks instead of proactively planning and handling what’s coming next.
