India shouldn’t delay decision on Huawei: Jay Chen, CEO

NEW DELHI: Chinese telecom gear maker Huawei said that the Indian government shouldn’t delay and quickly take a decision on the company’s future in India, which will also give clarity to Indian mobile phone companies to plan future investments.

“This is the right time for the Indian government to make a decision and give clarity…India should take a collaborative and open approach to achieve the revenue target for the ICT sector,” Jay Chen, chief executive of Huawei India, told ET.

Speaking on security, Chen said that there’s a mindset in the industry about the origin of companies in the telecom space. “…this is misleading..the right way is to talk about security basis proper procedure and policy.
