Share market update: Telecom shares rise; Vodafone Idea surges 6%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Telecom index was up in Friday’s afternoon session with most of its components trading in the green.

Shares of Vodafone Idea (up 5.94 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 4.72 per cent), GTL (up 3.78 per cent) and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (up 1.99 per cent) were trading higher.

Tata Communications (up 1.77 per cent), Tejas Networks (up 1.37 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (up 0.84 per cent) and OnMobile Global (up 0.57 per cent) too with trading in the green.
