L&T announces L&T-Nxt to focus on new-age tech

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Friday announced a new strategic initiative called L&T-Nxt, with focus on the areas of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality, augmented reality, geo‐spatial solutions and cyber security. This will play a key role in the company’s five-year strategic plan, said a company statement .

The company said that the initiative will define the future of heavy-engineering behemoth, which is already making use of the new-age technologies by converting most operational matters online. The company said it has made one of the largest deployments of IoT, analytics and AI in the industrial sector and has turned finance, human resources, labour, plant, material, etc into smart, affordable and extremely efficient solutions.
