How Apple plans to ensure iPhones aren’t fooled by this flaw

NEW DELHI: It’s widely accepted in the smartphone industry that the notch is arguably the most-copied feature of iPhone that Android smartphones took and adopted with aplomb. With the notch, iPhone introduced FaceID which again became a part of Android phones (via software). While Apple’s FaceID is certainly more secure and safer than Android phones, there lies a chink in its solid armour. Apple’s FaceID was relatively easily fooled by twins and in some cases even some family members.
However, it looks like Apple has found a way to ensure that its iPhones aren’t that easily fooled. As per a report by Apple Insider, Apple has filed a patent for a technology that will make FaceID even more secure. A patent filed by Apple with the US Patent and Trademark Office says “wien matching for difficult biometric authentication cases”. The patent, according to Apple Insider, suggests “suggests the use of veins in a face as part of a user’s overall visual identity.” Even though identical may have similar facial features but the two would have different vein patterns.
