BSNL workers stage demonstration

The BSNL Workers Federation owing allegiance to the Centre for Indian Trade Union (CITU) on Tuesday staged a demonstration in front of the BSNL office on Rangapillai Street demanding regularisation of services and also enhancement of wages.

The protesters led by CITU president K. Murugan demanded the Union Government to regularise services of contract workers serving for more than 10 years, offer minimum wages of Rs. 18,000 per month, job security and pension facilities.
