Reliance Jio sends ‘missing you’ message to Airtel, Vodafone

Taking a dig at rivals like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and others on Valentine’s Day, telecom operator Reliance Jio has posted a ‘poem’ on microblogging website Twitter asking the whereabouts of its ‘neighbours’. Mockingly expressing their absence, the company wrote ‘Roses are red, Violets are blue, Once a neighbour in SIM slot 2, Where are you? ”.

Reliance Jio entered the Indian telecom sector in December 2015. The Jio SIM was made available for purchase in September 2016. The SIM initially worked in 4G enabled SIM slots only which is usually the SIM slot 1 in most mobiles. So, while the Jio SIM took the SIM slot 1, other operator’s SIM were eventually pushed to SIM slot 2. This is where the company’s latest pun on Twitter mocks at.
