t must be bittersweet to be Facebook in today’s times. There remains a large chunk of its users who seem to be following Clark Gable’s iconic line — from Gone With The Wind – “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn” about the social media giant’s lackadaisical attitude towards their privacy. However, there is a section of users that remain highly skeptical of Facebook and its motives. So much so that a piece of fake news which went viral has merited an explanation from Facebook.
A couple of days ago, a post went viral which claimed that Facebook is limiting the posts in its News Feed and restricting it to just 26 friends. According to multiple online reports, the post reads like this: how to avoid hearing from the same 26 FB friends and no one else. The post further reveals that because of a new Facebook algorithm, users are seeing posts from the same people repeatedly and not from all their friends. The post alleged that Facebook is picking out these 26 friends for users and thus limiting their access to all friends.
