Public Wi-Fi

To encourage the public Wi-Fi networks in the country, on March 9, 2017, Trai came out with its recommendations on “Proliferation of Broadband through Public WiFi Networks”. In the recommendations, Trai has envisaged a WiFi network architecture that supports one time authentication requirement, interoperability across different WiFi networks, ease of payment through any instrument and above all, inexpensive service.
