QoS: All is well

Even telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, ever since he took over as the ministry, has been very critical of the deteriorating voice quality and call drops in the mobile networks across the country. In a recent interview to a television channel he chided private telecom operators for repeated call drops on their network, and said lack of spectrum is no excuse for the problem.

“When people come with complaint about call drop on private mobile operators network, what should I tell them? Private telecom operators need to ponder on this call drop. All this is because lack of spectrum, I’m sorry. I don’t buy this,” he said. Mr Prasad said, “there is a need for better monitoring of entire system” to address the call drop problem.
