88% married Indians say excessive smartphone usage is hurting their relationship: Study
Smartphones have been instrumental in connecting people, however, a new study has outlined the negative impact they have when used excessively. The results of a study suggest that 88% of married couples in India agree that increased usage of smartphones is hurting their relationship.
Vivo announced the findings of its fourth edition of the Switch Off study titled ‘Smartphones and their impact on human relationships 2022’. The study found that 67% of Indians confessed to being on their phones even while they were spending time with their spouse.
Overindulgence in smartphones leads to psychological changes
The study found that 70% of people get irritated if their spouse interrupts them while they are engrossed in their smartphones.
