82% users reject WhatsApp privacy policy update: Study
NEW DELHI: WhatsApp’s recent privacy policy update which attracted flak from its users and privacy activists, has overwhelmingly been rejected by 82% of users, a new study revealed Thursday.
While 37% considered it to be a serious breach of privacy, another 45% said they could live with the policy, and 18% said the update did not concern them, the study by market research and communications advisory firm BM Nxt said.
Despite the controversies, 28% said they have no plans to switch to an alternative instant messaging app while 29% said they could switch within a month, 25% said they could do so within a week, and 18% said they have already switched.
