70% bought refurbished phone due to affordability issues: Cashify survey

New Delhi: 70% consumers surveyed by re-commerce company Cashify said they bought refurbished smartphones with Xiaomi, Apple, and Samsung emerging as the brands most in demand, while OnePlus remained a brand that people chose when looking to buy a premium phone at pocket-friendly prices, according to a white paper released by the company.

Indians are increasingly buying refurbished smartphones, as prices of new smartphones have shot up over the year due to rise in input costs. According to the survey, 70% bought a refurbished smartphone due to the affordability factor, while 12% bought it as a spare device, even as 13% bought a refurbished phone as a gift for a loved one.
