617 million accounts hacked: Websites exposed, details up for sale and more

NEW DELHI: A new cyber hack has been reported online in which the details of 617 million users have been compromised. According to a report by The Register the 617 million accounts have been hacked and their details are up for sale on the dark web.
The report also added that the data breach occurred from 16 different websites. The list of hacked websites include Dubsmash, MyFitnessPal, MyHeritage and others.
What data was stolen
The data breach include the email addresses, passwords, personal and location details of the users. The Register spotted the listing of hacked accounts on Dream Market and the data is up for sale for less than $20,000 in Bitcoin. The report also suggest that the accounts have been hacked last year. As per the report the hackers cracked the security vulnerabilities within these apps and extracted the account information of the users.
