5G to unlock transformative power of networks, says Trai’s PD Vaghela

The deployment of fifth-generation or 5G together with futuristic technologies would facilitate the unlocking of the transformative power of digital networks, a top regulatory official said.
“Implementation of 5G and associated technologies will help unlock the transformative power of digital communication networks and enable us to achieve the digital empowerment goal and improve the well-being of the people,” Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) chairman PD Vaghela said.
Vaghela was delivering a keynote address at the 5G Congress – 2021, organised by ETTelecom.
The government, according to him, has been working hard to ensure that the country benefits by launching 5G services in a timely manner, and it has already taken multiple steps such as the unveiling the National Digital Communication Policy (NDCP) – 2018 to boost the implementation of technologies such as the 5G, Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine to Machine (M2M) communication.
