5G to unfold vast opportunities for Indian enterprises, consumers: HFCL

NEW DELHI: The fifth-generation or 5G network rollout will unfold vast opportunities for both Indian enterprises and consumers, and will enable telecom operators to provide a new-generation of high bandwidth mobile services to their customer, said a top executive of homegrown telecom gear maker HFCL.

“5G will allow enterprises to embark on the Industry 4.0 journey, and it will help accelerate digital transformation across industries spanning manufacturing, retail, utilities, smart cities and more. The 5G revolution would contribute significantly in achieving our honourable PM’s vision of India becoming a $5 trillion economy,” said Mahendra Nahata, MD, HFCL in a statement Thursday.

He added that 5G will aid in bridging the digital divide – making services like healthcare, education, financial services, e-commerce and entertainment accessible to the bottom of the pyramid.
