5G to improve remote patient monitoring, quality of care in rural areas: GE Healthcare’s Girish Raghavan

NEW DELHI: The healthcare sector is going through a major transformation post-Covid and with the commercial availability of fifth-generation or 5G networks, there will be a positive shift in the quality of patient care in India, according to an executive of GE Healthcare.

“When 5G becomes so prevalent, you will find it wouldn’t depend whether the doctor is sitting in Bombay or in Hyderabad or in Bengaluru because you’ve got technology. So, 5G is going to provide a very enhanced quality of care in the healthcare space. Today, if you look at this whole ecosystem, there are certain critical use cases coming to the top of the stack,” Girish Raghavan, Vice President, Engineering, GE Healthcare, told ETTelecom.
