5G to bring $1 trillion worth of economic impact: Manoj Sinha

NEW DELHI: The fifth-generation or 5G technology would have an impact of more than $1 trillion on the Indian economy, and the government expects telcos to undertake field trials over next 12 months, telecom minister Manoj Sinha Tuesday said.

“5G is going to be a gamechanger. The economic impact of 5G will be going to be over $1 trillion for India, and the consequent multiplier effect is expected to be much more,” Sinha said, adding that it was extremely important to promote and enable infrastructure to make 5G a success.
