5G smartphone shipments in India up 30% YoY but overall mkt falls in Q3: CMR

NEW DELHI: 5G smartphone shipments in India grew 30% year-over-year compared to the overall market that declined 12% year-over-year in the Q3 of 2022, according to data released by CyberMedia Research (CMR) on Wednesday.

Samsung and OnePlus led the 5G segment with a 23% and 15% market share, respectively, in the quarter ended September.

On a sequential basis, 5G smartphone shipments increased 21% in Q3 whereas overall shipments increased 16%, as per CMR. During the quarter, 33 5G-capable smartphones were introduced in the market, it added.
