5G myths busted in a new consumer survey done by Ericsson

Dispelling the ICT industry myth that consumers are unwilling to pay a premium on 5G services, a latest report suggest that smartphone users are willing to pay 20 percent more for fifth-generation services. According to the ConsumerLab report titled ‘5G Consumer Potential’ released by Ericsson recently, half of early adopters of 5G are willing to pay as much as 32 percent more.
The report looks at the potential of 5G to benefit consumers and uncovers “consumer realities” associated with 5G servcies. The Swedish tech company in its report also busted industry myths surrounding the value of 5G for consumers. These include myths like there are no real use cases for 5G, nor is there a price premium on 5G and that smartphones will be the “silver bullet” for 5G. It further denies the claims that 5G offers no-short benefits to consumers and that the current 4G usage patterns can predict future 5G demands.
