5G has a monetisation problem: Peter Jarich, Head, GSMA Intelligence

NEW DELHI: Fifth-generation technology, even with its promises of low-latency and high capacity and wide-ranging applications for consumers as well as enterprises, has a monetisation problem, according to the GSMA Intelligence.

According to Peter Jarich, Head of GSMA Intelligence, telecom operators worldwide have not been able to monetise these newer networks despite investments to the tune of billions of dollars. However, he expressed that the upcoming 5G-Advanced technology may solve some of the monetisation pain points.
