5G FWA subscribers to grow 54% by 2030: Counterpoint

NEW DELHI: 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) subscribers are projected to grow at 54% compounded annually between 2022-30 as fifth-generation networks take center stage, providing enhanced broadband services at a scale not possible in previous generations, according to a report by Counterpoint Research.

“Many developing economies, as well as parts of developed economies, still suffer from a digital divide with many unable to access broadband connectivity. We believe 5G-enabled Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) is a killer use-case for bridging this digital divide and providing connectivity where fiber or even DSL has not yet reached,” the research firm said.
