5G crosses 4,00,000 site mark in under 15 months

India’s has become the fastest 5G rollout in the world after 5G deployments crossed the 4 lakh mark with Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel adding 2,000 base tower stations (BTSs) a week, officials aware of the development said.

“The 4-lakh mark has been achieved in less than 15 months of the 5G launch as both telcos have been aggressively rolling out the network,” an official told ET.
