5G: Cos may spend over $2 billion to ramp up workforce
MUMBAI: The rollout of 5G services in the country has resulted in a 90% intent to hire within the telecom sector, with about $2.5 billion likely to be spent towards hiring activity in the quarter through December, said staffing firm TeamLease in a report. The intent to hire in the sector has grown from 84% in the preceding quarter.
On the flip side, the telecom sector saw the highest attrition in six quarters the July-September period. Attrition stood at 10.03%, up 1.16% from April-June quarter (8.87%), the report said.
