53,300 BPOs

Government has approved the India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS) for the promotion of BPO / ITES across the country including small towns and rural areas. Government has planned an outlay of about Rs 493 cr during the remaining period of 12th Five Year Plan (up to March 31, 2017) for the promotion of IT/ITES in each state. About 48,300 seats have been planned with distribution across states and union territories based on population percentage as per Census 2011.
