The broadcasting sector began its New Year with the new regulatory framework brought in by Trai with an aim to make TV viewing more affordable and transparent to consumers. But, it hasn’t worked as planned. In our earlier issues, we have carried out stories about how the new regime has made the cable and DTH tariffs expensive by upto 50 per cent for the viewers.
