NEW DELHI: Even if the entire country is in a state of lockdown for the next 21 days, the supply for essentials is not going to get affected. Just before PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation, e-commerce giant Amazon announced that starting March 24, it is going to prioritise customers with most urgent needs while also ensuring safety of its associates.
Amazon India’s global senior VP and country head Amit Agarwal announced on Twitter, “To serve our customers’ most urgent needs while also ensuring the safety of our associates, we are prioritizing (with immediate effect) all our resources to serve products that are currently high priority. Stay safe!”
Till further notice, Amazon India will prioritise its available fulfilment and logistics capacity to deliver products that it categorises currently as important. There are the five categories:
