Budget 2019

Industry, by and large, welcomed the budget presented by finance minister, Nirmala Sitharaman. The budget specifically focused on the BharatNet program and the grander vision of the Pradhan Mantri Grameen Digital Saksharta Mission in rural areas. It talks of creating a fresh pool of skilled professionals in AI, robotics and VR (virtual reality). These pronouncements have received appreciation. The proposal to establish a National Research Foundation (NRF) which will help the Indian workforce to skill / upskill and meet the industry demands in the technology space, has been welcomed by all.
