36% Indian youth see potential in Artificial Intelligence: Telenor

Norway-based Telenor group Wednesday said that a majority or 36% of India’s respondents see potential in artificial intelligence technology in a regional online survey that assessed the attitudes of Asia’s millennials towards technology and social impact.

“36 percent of India’s respondents placed their bets on artificial intelligence, followed by the Internet of Things (32 percent), and virtual reality (14 percent),” the telco in a statement said.

Organized to support Telenor Youth Forum 2017 recruitment, the online survey was based on 2,500 respondents aged between 15 and 30 years in Asian markets where Telenor is present, including Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Thailand.

Artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and virtual reality rank consistently among the top three that according to the telco suggests the vast potential seen in these future technologies by the Internet generation.

Other global issues that Indian millennials are driven to make change include climate change and global warming (18 percent), the stigma surrounding mental health issues (7 percent), and gender inequality (4 percent), according to the finding.
