3.3-3.4 & 3-4-3.6 GHz bands

In its September 27, 2006 recommendations, Trai had given a list of operators who were allocated spectrum in the 3.3-3.4 GHz band for free (see box). In its further recommendations Trai had stated that the operators with current city-based spectrum assignments in the 3.3-3.4 GHz band should be given the option to migrate to circle wide operations by December 2006, and the DoT should then allocate this spectrum for BWA services. It had recommended allocation of 200 MHz of spectrum in the 3.3-3.4 GHz and 3.4-3.6 GHz bands to 13 operators in contiguous blocks of 15 MHz each.
