256 LWE-hit areas provided with mobile connectivity: Min

Bhubaneswar: As many as 256 of the 261 areas in the state affected by left wing extremism (LWE) have been provided with mobile connectivity by the Centre, Union communications minister Ravi Shankar Prasad informed in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

But services at five LWE locations in Odisha could not be provided due to security reasons and Maoist activities, the minister added while replying to MPs Rahul Ramesh Shewale and Bhartruhari Mahtab.
