2 Nigerian nationals held for ‘cheating women’ on matrimonial sites

Delhi Police arrested two Nigerian nationals for allegedly making fake profiles of NRI citizens on matrimonial websites and cheating women to the tune of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of sending over expensive gifts, police said Tuesday.

The accused, Chife Monday, 27, and Igwemma James, 33, revealed to the police that they have duped over 700 women over the last four years, police said.

“Based on an analysis of their phone, it has come to our notice that they purchased a piece of land in Nigeria using the same money,” an officer said.
