Facebook brings disappearing messages in Vanish mode on Messenger

NEW DELHI: Social networking giant Facebook recently introduced Disappearing Messages feature on WhatsApp. Now the company has announced Vanish mode for its Messenger app. The company has also confirmed that soon the Vanish mode will also be available for users on Instagram.
Already present on Snapchat the Vanish mode feature works differently in comparison to the Disappearing Messages feature of WhatsApp. When the feature is turned on, the sent messages will be shown to the receiver when the chat is open. Once the user closes the chat the message will also be deleted. On the other hand, WhatsApp’s Disappearing message feature will keep the message for seven days in the chat before deleting it.
In order to activate the Vanish mode users just have to swipe up in an existing chat. Users can also deactivate the mode by simply swiping up again. The company claims that for security purposes both the participants in a chat will have to activate the Vanish mode. Also if the mode is on and one of the participants takes a screenshot then the sender will be notified about it.
