Why 2G?

Universal Service Obligation (USO) Fund’s stated objective is to provide non-discriminatory access to quality ICT services to people in rural and remote areas characterised by sparse population, remoteness of areas, absence of supporting infrastructure, low income of inhabitants, insurgency and difficult terrain. But, on ground the reality is completely the opposite. It is specifying in all its tenders, 2G technology only.
