Digital India through Public WiFi Networks

Trai has come out with the consultation paper on the inter-operability and scalable public WiFi networks. In the paper, it said that the large scale deployment of the Public WiFi is necessary for the Digital India. The note suggested that small shops, cafe and mall owners, telcos, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), payment gateways and even communities should come together to divide the cost of operating WiFi hotspots. The paper issued on November 15, 2015, has sought stakeholders’ feedback by December 9.
