BSNL introduces concept of prepaid for landline, service to start from July 20

State-run BSNL has introduced the concept of prepaid for landline connections as the telco would offer landline connections on ‘pay as per-use’ basis without installation, registration or rental charges.

The company soft launched the prepaid landline service on Wednesday. The service is likely to be launched in all the circles across India from July 20.

To get a connection, the customer would be required to either purchase own instrument or use BSNL’s instrument at a one-time cost of Rs 625.

The tariffs for the service start from Rs 11 and go up as Rs 19, Rs 49, Rs 99 with a validity of 1 day, 2 days, 7 days, 15 days and 30 days respectively with unlimited calls to any network and anywhere in India.

However, the customers would be initially required to purchase a voucher of Rs 200 with unlimited calls to any network and anywhere in India with a validity of 30 days. Topup vouchers Rs 10, Rs.20, Rs 50 and Rs 100, Rs 200 with more talk value of Rs 10, Rs 25, Rs70, Rs 125 and Rs 300 can also be purchased by the customer within validity period.
